Zimmer Biomet to pay $177M for orthopedic robotics company
Zimmer Biomet has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Monogram Technologies, an orthopedic robotics company.Â
Zimmer will pay $4.04 per share in cash to acquire all outstanding shares of Monogram’s stock, corresponding to an equity value of about $177 million and an enterprise value of about $168 million, according to a July 14 Zimmer news release.Â
Monogram has developed a CT-based, semi-autonomous, AI-navigated total knee arthroplasty robot. The technology earned FDA 510(k) clearance in March 2025 and is expected to be fully commercialized into Zimmer’s implants in 2027.Â
In addition, Monogram is creating a fully autonomous version of the technology, putting Zimmer on the path to becoming the first orthopedic company with a fully autonomous surgical robot.Â
Zimmer projects the acquisition to be neutral to adjusted earnings per share from 2025 to 2027, and then contribute to revenue growth starting in 2027. The company is planning to fund the purchase through cash and other debt-financing sources.Â
Both Zimmer and Monogram’s respective boards of directors unanimously approved the proposed transaction, the release said.

Orlando Health expands with 26 orthopedic, sports medicine physicians
The Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute has expanded its staff with 26 orthopedic and sports medicine physicians in Florida.Â
After Orlando Health’s recent acquisition of Steward Health Care’s east Central Florida orthopedic practice locations, six physicians joined the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute, according to a July 14 news release from Orlando Health.Â
On Florida’s west coast, 20 physicians with Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health are joining the orthopedic institute’s staff. In addition, five existing orthopedic clinic locations will be rebranded to Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute in the upcoming months.Â
Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute Downtown Complex provides orthopedic services to more than 320,000 patients each year. The institute has 94 physicians on its staff and operates 24 clinics across Florida, the release said.
