Allina Health to close 4 clinics – Becker’s Hospital Review | Healthcare News
Allina Health shared plans to close four clinics — three suburban Minneapolis medical clinics in Inver Grove Heights, Maplewood and Oakdale, plus one on Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis — effective Nov. 1.
In a statement shared with Becker’s, the Minneapolis-based health system said there is underutilized space across the organization’s clinics, and the closures balance maintaining care access with greater efficiency of space and resources.
“We are taking steps to prepare for the future, where care models driven by patient preferences will continue to evolve beyond traditional in-person visits and finances of nonprofit healthcare systems will be even more challenged,” Allina said.
The health system operates 12 hospital campuses, more than 60 primary care clinics, and 20 same-day and urgent care centers. The closures of four of those clinics will affect no more than 150 employees, the health system said in a separate statement shared with Becker’s.
“Care team members will be provided with transition resources, and can apply for other positions that they are qualified for and interested in within Allina Health,” the health system said.
Allina said it will help patients transition their care, and will be contacting patients with provider availability, new clinic locations and other updates.
