Trump demands COVID ‘drug’ data from pharmaceutical companies

President Donald Trump demanded that pharmaceutical companies release data for “success rates” of their COVID-19 medications to clear up what he called a “discrepancy mess.”

In a Sept. 1 Truth Social post, President Trump said he had been shown “extraordinary” results from Pfizer and other pharmaceutical companies that had not been presented to the public. He did not clarify what data he wants released or any specific drug names.

“They show me GREAT numbers and results, but they don’t seem to be showing them to many others. I want them to show them NOW, to CDC and the public, and clear up this MESS, one way or the other,” the post stated.

Pfizer recently unveiled its vaccine distribution plans, including a link to its presentation from May on its vaccine’s efficacy, NBC News reported Sept. 1. Moderna’s most recent presentation from May can be accessed through the FDA’s website.

In 2020, at the beginning of the pandemic, President Trump launched a partnership called Operation Warp Speed to advance COVID-19 vaccination. He has cited the partnership as a success despite rising anti-vaccine perceptions.

This comes after HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. rolled out restrictions on recommendations for who can access the vaccine. The vaccine is approved for individuals 65 and older as well as children and adults who have at least one health condition.
