Tenet opens new Florida hospital
Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare opened a new 54-bed hospital in Port St. Lucie, Fla., on Sept. 4.
Four things to know:
1. Florida Coast Medical Center is the sixth standalone hospital in the Palm Beach Health Network, a subsidiary of Tenet.
2. The $200 million, 180,000-square-foot facility offers 24-hour emergency care, neurosciences, orthopedics, spine, robotics, general surgery, urology, advanced cardiac care and diagnostic services.
3. Patient-centered safety features include cell phone charging ports built into hospital beds to help reduce fall risks by keeping devices within reach.
4. Between 2020 and 2023, Port St. Lucie had the second-fastest growth rate in the U.S. among metropolitan areas with at least 500,000 people, according to Tenet.
