New York hospital names chief nurse
Megan Keenan, RN, DNP, has been named vice president and chief nursing officer of Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center after more than 20 years at the academic medical center.
Dr. Keenan joined the hospital as an administrative support associate in the vascular surgery department in 2004. Her early days in healthcare inspired her to pursue a nursing degree, which she completed with support from the hospital’s tuition reimbursement program, according to a Sept. 10 news release.
She has been serving as CNO in an interim capacity since June. Before that, she spent 10 years in the quality management department, most recently as the director.
Albany Medical Center is a 766-bed hospital. It is the flagship facility of Albany Med Health System.
