New Hampshire system outsourcing some RCM functions
Berlin, N.H.-based North Country Healthcare is outsourcing some of its revenue cycle management functions, a spokesperson confirmed to Becker’s.
While some positions will be affected, many patient-facing and oversight roles will remain within the system, the spokesperson said Sept. 9.
The system selected Hartzler Healthcare as its outsourcing partner, the Caledonian Record reported Sept. 8. In-house counsel Brooke Belanger said the company was chosen after an independent assessment because it offered a more customized approach than larger firms, which will allow the system to retain as many employees as possible.
North Country Healthcare CEO Tom Mee said that the move will ultimately save jobs, according to the report.
“I know that the people impacted don’t want to hear that, but the reality is that I have to collect every single cent that we’re entitled to (from payers),” Mr. Mee said, according to the report.
