
Maryland hospital president to retire
Garrett Hoover, president and COO of Carroll Hospital in Westminster, Md., plans to retire later in 2025 after nearly 38 years in healthcare leadership.
Mr. Hoover joined Carroll Hospital in March 2020 and also serves as senior vice president at Baltimore-based LifeBridge Health, according to a Sept. 10 health system news release.
Leslie Simmons, executive vice president and COO of LifeBridge Health, will serve as interim president.
During his tenure, he helped guide the hospital through the COVID-19 pandemic and oversaw major campus improvements, including a new patient tower and a renovated perioperative area. More recently, Mr. Hoover launched a $9.5 million renovation of the emergency department and established a Bachelor of Nursing program in partnership with McDaniel College in Westminster.
His retirement is likely to occur in mid-November, the release said.
