Florida health system responds to viral video celebrating Charlie Kirk’s death
South Miami, Fla.-based Larkin Health System has denied rumors that an anesthesiologist who posted a video celebrating the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk works for the organization.
After Kirk was killed Sept. 10 at a Utah university, the woman posted a video to her Instagram account (which has since been deleted) saying she was “glad” the 31-year-old “got himself f—ing shot.” Several social media accounts and commenters identified her as being a Larkin employee, even tagging the health system.
“We wish to make it clear that this individual is a prior Resident of Larkin Community Hospital who completed her Residency in 2018. She is not currently employed, does not have privileges, and has no current affiliation with our hospital or within the Larkin health System,” Larkin CEO Nicholas Torres, DNP, posted on the health system’s social media accounts. “The views expressed in the video do not represent the mission, vision, or values of our organization.”
