Five-hospital Florida system appoints chief medical officer

Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Broward Health appointed Evan Boyar, MD, as its corporate chief medical officer on Sept. 10. 

Dr. Boyar joined the system in 2010 and has held several roles, including chief of staff, regional medical director of emergency services and chair of the emergency department.

Broward Health operates five hospitals, two trauma centers and more than 50 health centers and physician practices.
