Northwell hospital names pavilion after former exec

Northwell Health’s Plainview (N.Y.) Hospital has named its pavilion after one of its former executives, Debbie Tascone-Kennedy, RN.

Ms. Tascone-Kennedy served as a senior executive at the former North Shore-LIJ Health System, including as vice president and executive director of both Plainview and Syosset Hospitals in the 1990s and early 2000s, according to an Aug. 26 system news release. She was known for her dedication to patient care, hospital operations and leadership. In 2021, she passed away from scleroderma.

“Debbie was a visionary leader who dedicated herself wholeheartedly to improving the lives of patients, staff, and the communities we serve,” Kerri Scanlon, RN, president of Plainview Hospital, said in the release. “The pavilion will serve as a lasting tribute to her impact and legacy within our hospital and the greater Northwell community.”
