New Jersey system appoints medical exec committee leaders

Saint Peter’s Healthcare System in New Brunswick, N.J., appointed new leaders to its medical executive committee for the 2025-27 term, according to an Aug. 20 press release.

The new committee leaders include:

  • Naveen Mehrotra, MD, as president
  • James Gervasoni Jr., PhD, MD, as vice president
  • William Lowe III, MD, as treasurer.

The committee oversees clinical policies and the operations of the medical staff at Saint Peter’s, a 478-bed acute-care teaching hospital. The system also includes a state-designated children’s hospital and regional perinatal center.

Dr. Mehrotra is president of the medical staff at Saint Peter’s University Hospital and leads My Whole Child Pediatrics, a practice with 20 providers in 20 locations. He has more than 25 years of experience in the field. He also established the Shri Krishna Nidhi Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to the healthcare needs of South Asians.

Dr. Gervasoni has served as the chair of the surgery department and was instrumental in creating the robotic surgery program. He is also surgical residency director at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, which is affiliated with Saint Peter’s.

Dr. Lowe is the vice chair of the department of obstetrics and gynecology, and medical director of the Mary V. O’Shea Birth Center and of outpatient quality and informatics. He also chairs the hospital’s credentialing committee and has an academic appointment at Rutgers.
