Mass General Brigham hospital granted $2M for child, adolescent campus

Belmont, Mass.-based McLean Hospital, part of Somerville, Mass.-based Mass General Brigham, has received a $2 million grant from the Yawkey Foundation for its child life and adolescent campus.

The 90,000-square-foot campus will offer built-to-suite clinical, educational and recreational spaces, as well as two residential beds, day treatment programs, a day school for students with autism ages 8 to 22 and a therapeutic high school, according to an Aug. 21 news release shared with Becker’s

The campus will serve more than 80 students and is completely supported by donations.

“Having the support of the Yawkey Foundation — one of Boston’s most respected and enduring philanthropic organizations — underscores the critical importance of this project and the broader need to prioritize youth mental health,” Scott Rauch, MD, president and psychiatrist-in-chief of McLean Hospital, said in the release.
