HCA New Hampshire hospital to invest in $100M upgrades
Manchester, N.H.-based Catholic Medical Center is investing almost $100 million in facility enhancements, technology improvements and infrastructure upgrades.
The hospital was acquired by Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare on Feb. 1.
The investment plan features a $43.4 million renovation of the hospital’s central energy plant, which will modernize its cooling, heating and power systems, according to an Aug. 20 news release shared with Becker’s.
“CMC’s facilities team worked tirelessly to extend the life of the aging plant, but a complete overhaul was long overdue,” the release said. “The new system will deliver more reliable and efficient operations, while supporting future expansion and innovation for decades to come.”
The 330-bed acute care hospital successfully bid for the lease of a former Rite Aid property, and plans to purchase it once the due diligence is complete. While the site currently serves as additional emergency department parking, CMC is looking into long-term development opportunities to expand care in the next few months.
CMC has also invested $46.5 million in facility renovations, equipment upgrades and patient care enhancements and $2.7 million in an electrophysiology lab renovation, which is expected to open by the end of 2025.
Most of the hospital’s projects are expected to be complete over the next two years.
