HCA Colorado hospital adds 24 beds in tower expansion

HCA HealthONE Mountain Ridge in Thornton, Colo., has completed a $36.5 million patient tower expansion, according to an Aug. 21 hospital news release shared with Becker’s.

The expansion added 24 medical-surgical beds and 19,093 square feet to the hospital, bringing its capacity to 180 beds. There is also 17,658 square feet in additional space for future clinical care use.

Hospital officials said the facility includes state-of-the-art equipment and upgraded patient care areas. It is among the recent investments within the hospital to expand care access.

Since 2020, HCA Healthcare has invested nearly $73 million into the Thornton facility, including a new heliport with the addition of air and ground transportation, a new inpatient unit, emergency department renovations, and upgrades to its technology and equipment.

HCA HealthONE Mountain Ridge, an affiliate of Denver–based HCA HealthONE, is part of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare.
