400+ pharmacy leaders to gather at Becker’s
With drug costs rising, workforce shortages intensifying, and new therapies reshaping care delivery, pharmacy leaders are facing more complexity — and responsibility — than ever. That’s why Becker’s is bringing together hundreds of health plan leaders to transform the industry.
Becker’s Healthcare will host its Spring Chief Pharmacy Officer Summit April 15–16 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, bringing together more than 400 pharmacy executives for two days of closed-door conversations on clinical strategy, regulatory challenges, operational models and the shifting role of pharmacy in enterprise leadership.
The summit comes at a time when many health systems are rethinking their pharmacy infrastructure — from how services are delivered and staffed to how pharmacy teams integrate with broader quality, safety and financial goals.
Drug Access, Staffing and Value Dominate the Conversation
Across the agenda, several recurring themes emerge: the pressure to improve access to high-cost therapies, the search for sustainable staffing models, and the ongoing effort to position pharmacy as a driver of value in health systems.
Sessions will explore topics such as:
– The future of 340B amid political and legal uncertainty
– Workforce redesign in the wake of burnout and staffing gaps
– Home infusion and ambulatory pharmacy expansion
– The pharmacy leader’s role in systemwide clinical strategy
– Financial performance across specialty, retail and inpatient operations
Organizers say more than 80 speakers will participate, including leaders from Intermountain Health, UChicago Medicine, Stanford Health Care, and Ascension. The event will feature a mix of panels, roundtables, and executive forums designed to encourage frank, peer-level discussion.
Expanding Leadership Responsibilities
The summit reflects a broader shift underway in healthcare: pharmacy leaders are increasingly expected to operate as cross-functional executives — influencing decisions that span operations, strategy, quality and finance.
That shift has prompted many health systems to elevate pharmacy executives into broader leadership roles, but questions remain about how best to structure teams, scale services, and ensure alignment across departments.
Registration Details
The summit is open to chief pharmacy officers, vice presidents, directors, and other senior pharmacy executives in hospitals and health systems. Participation is invitation-only or available through complimentary reviewer registration.
