Providers repay $5.8B in Change Healthcare cyberattack loans – Becker’s Hospital Review | Healthcare News
Healthcare providers have repaid nearly two-thirds of the loans disbursed by UnitedHealth Group following the 2024 cyberattack on its claims processing subsidiary, Change Healthcare.
The healthcare giant distributed $9.03 billion in loans after the February 2024 ransomware attack on Change Healthcare left many providers unable to process payments.
Providers paid back $1.29 billion of the loans in the first half of 2025, according to UnitedHealth Group’s July 29 earnings report. That is in addition to the $4.51 billion providers repaid the company in 2024, according to the company’s full-year results released in January.
