Elie Bahou, PharmD, senior vice president and chief pharmacy officer at Renton, Wash.-based Providence, stepped down from his role July 11, according to a July 7 LinkedIn post

In the post, Dr. Bahou reflected on his eight years with the health system, saying, “Serving as the system CPO and building an exceptional pharmacy team alongside so many dedicated professionals was truly the honor of my career. I can’t wait to watch my team’s continued success unfold. Having attended a Christian school as a child and working for an organization driven by a mission that genuinely cares for the communities it serves, namely the poor and the vulnerable, gave me profound purpose every single day and I will tell you that leaving isn’t easy.”

Looking ahead, Dr. Bahou added that the next chapter of his career is still taking shape, but he will continue to focus on partnering with health systems to deliver high-value, cost-effective care.
