Brian Moore resigned as CEO of Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay, Ore., on July 16.

Mr. Moore and the board of directors “agreed the hospital will be seeking a different strategic direction,” according to a July 17 hospital news release shared with Becker’s.

“On behalf of myself and members of the board, I want to thank Brian for his service to Bay Area Hospital, commitment to our teams and dedication to the people of Coos Bay,” board Chair Simon Alonzo Jr. said in the release. “We respectfully accept his resignation and appreciate the frank conversations over the past few weeks as he pursues a new path.”

Mr. Moore joined the hospital in 2019. During his tenure, he led growth in cardiovascular and cancer care services, maintained high-quality metrics and implemented staff support and peer counseling programs, the release said.

“It was an honor to be part of the Bay Area Hospital team these last six and a half years, and I wish them the best as they continue to make a wide variety of services available on Oregon’s south coast,” Mr. Moore said in a statement shared with Becker’s on July 21.
