New York children’s hospital taps CEO

Nathaniel Beers, MD, was appointed president and CEO of Blythedale Children’s Hospital in Valhalla, N.Y., according to a July 21 hospital news release shared with Becker’s.
Dr. Beers, a developmental-behavioral pediatrician, will assume the role Nov. 17, the release said. He succeeds Larry Levine, who will retire at year’s end after 26 years of leadership at Blythedale.
Dr. Beers is executive vice president of community and population health at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C. Previously, he was president of HSC Health Care System, COO and chief of specialized instruction for DC Public Schools and held senior positions within the DC Department of Health.
Blythedale Children’s is the state’s only independent, specialty children’s hospital.
