Medical supply chain costs to increase 2.41% in 2026: Vizient – Becker’s Hospital Review | Healthcare News
Medical supply chain costs are expected to rise by 2.41% in 2026, according to Vizient’s Summer 2025 Spend Management Outlook, released July 29.
The increase will be driven by rising costs in IT services, capital equipment and surgical supplies. The report showed an analysis of product cost inflation for 2026, with projections shaped partly by established tariffs as of April 2025.
In addition to supply chain pricing, the report forecast a 3.35% rise in pharmaceutical prices, which is expected to be driven by a surge in the use of high-cost therapies such as GLP-1s and CAR-T treatments.
Indirect spend categories are also expected to see price increases, with IT services expected to rise 5.5%.
