Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine in Pasadena, Calif., is again extending its tuition waiver policy for the 2026 matriculating class, waiving all tuition and fees (including disability insurance) for students who enroll.

The July 29 decision marks the seventh consecutive cohort to receive a full tuition waiver, further cementing the school’s stated mission of “attract[ing] aspiring physicians from across the country who are dedicated to serving diverse communities,” according to the new release announcing the decision.

“This decision reflects our continued commitment to reducing barriers for future physicians and supporting students who share our mission to advance health and well-being in the communities they serve,” Dean and CEO of the school John Dalrymple, MD, said in the release. “We are grateful to our board and Kaiser Permanente leadership for their partnership and for helping make this level of support possible.”

The school, which opened in July 2020, is named in honor of Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente’s late chair and CEO.
