IU Health names regional president

Michele Saysana, MD, has been appointed president of Indianapolis-based Indiana University Health’s metro region, effective July 27.

She will also serve as president of the Adult Academic Health Center, which includes IU Health Methodist and University hospitals in Indianapolis, and oversee operations at IU Health North in Carmel, IU Health Fishers and IU Health West in Avon, according to a July 18 health system news release.

Dr. Saysana has served as interim president for the past five months. In her permanent role, she will focus on expanding care access, guiding strategic direction and leading the development of IU Health’s new downtown hospital campus.

She was named IU Health’s inaugural chief quality and safety officer in 2017 and served as chief medical officer for the Adult Academic Health Center from 2022 to 2024.
